I know so many of you use audiobooks to help your sweet children. I found this to be an interesting way of breaking things down.
My personal recommendations are for you to do eye-reading and ear-reading at the same time! This helps train your word-recognition without the stress of decoding! Read the book while listening to it on tape, or find an app that highlights the words as it reads to you.

Make-Up Day will be held Sunday, October 25th at STA.
It will run similar to summer schedules where I will have your child for 1 hour, and you can take the morning or afternoon session. If you don’t remember which session to sign up for, please feel free to ask me about it. This is not mandatory, but if you would like to make-up the day that I will miss for the dyslexia conference, it is an option.
I am looking forward to bringing back wonderful information to share. I will hopefully update my blog as soon as I get some great info. I am taking a 2 hour session on the latest and greatest apps!! So look for this to be added to the app page during that time.

I have uploaded the Mississippi College info to the conference bookmark. Some of you have been to this conference before, but this is great for those of you who have never been. I really encourage those of you whose children were just diagnosed last year to attend and get some great info to help your children. The IDA Conference in Dallas is supposed to be fabulous. I will be attending for the first time, and am super excited about all of the wonderful things I can bring back for your children. I will be offering a make-up day since I will only see your children 2 days that week. More info will come in the next week so you can make arrangements. I so hope some of you might be able to make the conference in Dallas, although I know Halloween is a tough time to be out.
